Welcome to

St. Mary Immaculate Parish

A Roman Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Joliet

15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, IL 60544     815.436.2651

When Jesus heard of the death of John the Baptist, he withdrew in a boat to a deserted place by himself. The crowds heard of this and followed him on foot from their towns.
When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, and he cured their sick. When it was evening, the disciples approached him and said,
“This is a deserted place and it is already late; dismiss the crowds so that they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” Jesus said to them, “There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves.” But they said to him,
“Five loaves and two fish are all we have here.” Then he said, “Bring them here to me, ”
and he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves,
and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.
They all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the fragments left over—
twelve wicker baskets full. Those who ate were about five thousand men,
not counting women and children.

- Matthew 14:13-21

Volunteers Needed

Are you looking for an opportunity to get more involved with our parish? So much of the wonderful work done at SMI wouldn’t be possible without volunteers. If
you like having donuts after
mass, how about being the
family who serves them? If
you’ve experienced the kindness
of someone during a time of
need, why not pay it forward
by being part of the Funeral Luncheon Ministry? Do you like helping to plan events? You can contribute to the success of
parish workshops and
celebrations by joining the Fellowship Team.

Please contact Laura Van Ham
at or 815-436-2651, x887 for more information and to join one of
the following teams:

Brothers In Christ

The ministry of Brothers in Christ is a group of men who seek to help one another become better men through developing our relationship with Jesus. We acknowledge that we are all on a personal faith journey. Some of us are novices, some more experienced, and others, perhaps, just waiting to grow spiritually. We have many backgrounds and many gifts, but we share the same spirit. That spirit is the spirit of love and we do all we can to help one another, by being Christ in all his compassion for one another. We learn from the Word of God, meditation, readings, and our unique life experiences as men. You will find that our meetings are full of spirit, laughter, and inspiration. It is easy to feel the Holy Spirit moving and working within us individually...READ MORE
