Marian Consecration

St. Mary Immaculate will be participating in Fr. Michael Gaitley's "33 Days to Morning Glory," to prepare for Marian Consecration.  Starting November 5th, you can join other parishioners in the journey towards Marian Consecration, concluding with consecration at Mass on The Immaculate Conception on December 8th.

Weekly group meetings will take place on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm and Tuesday mornings following daily Mass from 8:00-9:30 am.  To see the videos that follow the 33 Days, sign up for a free Formed account through the parish!

November Family Mass

SMI will have its third Family Mass on Sunday, November 18th at the 10:45 am Mass.  This is a Mass that is led by a specific grade of students from our Confirmation program and school, with students filling many of the liturgical minister roles, including lectoring, greeting, ushering and altar serving.

This month, Grade 7 will be performing these liturgical roles.  Family Mass will occur once a month for each grade level.  Come support our students as they become more involved in the Mass!

Eucharistic Miracles

Join us on November 17th and 18th in the Gym as we continue to take a look at our Eucharistic Miracles display after all Masses this weekend.

The second installment of the Eucharistic Miracles display features miraculous events from France, Mexico, and other parts of Latin America.  This event is a part of SMI's Summit: Year of the Eucharist.  We will have more of the exhibit displayed later next year.

Thanksgiving Day Schedule

Thanksgiving is next week!  Our office will close at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 21st and will reopen on Monday, November 26th at 8:15 am.  Our Adoration Chapel will follow the same schedule as our office, and will be unavailable during those times.  Please note:  We will be doing maintenance in the building on Wednesday morning, which could effect our phone system.

Daily Mass on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 23rd will be at 9:00 am in the Church, instead of the usual 7:30 am daily Mass.

Diocese of Joliet Annulment Information Day
Next Saturday, November 17th, the Diocese of Joliet will be hosting an Annulment Information Day at the Blanchette Center in Crest Hill.  People interested in petitioning for an annulment, those already in the process, or anyone who wants information about the annulment process are welcome to attend. The meaning of the word "annulment", church status, myths, misunderstandings, other concerns and questions will be addressed. This informative seminar will include input by and discussion with Fr. Joseph Tapella, the Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Joliet, and Valerie Maty, the associate director of The Office of Family Ministry.  The cost of this event is $25.00.  To register, please call the Office of Family Ministry at 815-838-5334.

New Marriage Preparation Workshops

Couples planning their wedding at St. Mary Immaculate should mark their calendars for two new pre-marriage workshops!  On Saturday, November 3rd, there will be a Marriage Formation Workshop, helping couples learn about the sacrament of marriage and how to prepare for married life.  On Saturday, November 17th, there will be a Wedding Liturgy Workshop, where couples will be able to select music, select readings, and walk through the Rite of Matrimony.  Please RSVP to Margaret O'Leary in the Parish Office at 815-436-2651 x803.
